I love poetry..urdu/hindi/english.And a lotta times feel the impulse to translate Hindi and Urdu to English.Alas I m jus okay with Hindi and English and virtually nowhere in urdu, the translations have been more of crappy ones.A piece of literature is felt best when studied in its language of origin beacause it carries the actual soul of it.So my tranlatsion by no means do justice to the shayari..at the same time thats no reason to stop myself from writing them here.

Urdu sher by Sahir

chand kaliyan nishaat ki chunkar,
muddaton meh-ve-yaas rehta hoon,
tera milna khushi ki baat sahi,
tujhse milkar udaas rehta hoon.

so here is a translation/versification/inspiration from this beauty

I spend ages in desert,
picking some flowers of bloom.
meeting you may be happiness for me
after meeting you I live in gloom.

another one:

girte hain sheh sawaar hi maidan-e jang mein
wo tifl kya girenge jo ghutno ke bal chalte hain.

english version which I like somewhat.

Those who fall in battleground,
are the ones who ride the steed.
those who never risk falling down,
are the ones who walk on knees.
